Becky Ruffner

Fellow since 2020

As founding Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Arizona, Becky developed this unique statewide advocacy organization, providing innovative training for community law enforcement, judicial and social service professionals as well as parent education and support.  During her tenure the Statewide Child Abuse Prevention Conference was produced for 27 years, the Advanced Forensic Investigation Training was held biannually since 1999, and the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center was established in 2000.

In 2004 Becky helped launch the first Best for Babies/Court Team in the Yavapai Juvenile Court, in partnership with now Chief Justice Robert Brutinel, Arizona Supreme Court. Today, all fifteen county juvenile courts in the state are implementing Best for Babies, working to improve outcomes for maltreated infants and toddlers through increasing shared knowledge of their unique developmental needs.

Currently Becky provides consulting services to PCA Arizona training Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers in Maricopa and other counties, through a grant from the Pullium Trust.
